Stripped Bare is an eye-opening, stigma busting, inspiring tale that shines a light on the toxic effects of consumerism within today’s society. It’s the story of how I swapped credit cards for compassion, and pressure for purpose. Published in Sept 2017, it has been reviewed and endorsed by many, including musician/presenter – Jools Holland OBE, founder of Animals Asia – Jill Robinson MBE, and British actor – Peter Egan.
Who Inspired Stripped Bare?
It was during a telephone interview with the Psychologies feature editor, the seedlings of Stripped Bare were sewn. She asked me if I had considered publishing a book about my journey.
By August 2017, I had heeded her advice and successfully self-published the self-help memoir. Even with limited distribution and numerous constraints, Stripped Bare achieved great success. It reached just over 500 in the UK best sellers rankings on release, was classed as a hot release by Amazon and often nestled in the 10,000 UK top sellers. The reviews, from readers on Amazon, Waterstones and my own official facebook page were heartfelt, encouraging and overwhelming.
Stripped Bare 2nd Edition
In 2018, my book caught the eye of a small independent publisher. I signed a contract with the company in February 2018, and Stripped Bare 2nd edition was published at the end of August that year. Unfortunately, the company’s PR and marketing were extremely disappointing and their promises of adding to my own personal success with the book did not come into fruition. I asked to be released from them in January 2019.
My writing continues, and I am busy publishing interactive wellbeing journals via ACV Publishing.
