HOW COMPASSIONATE VOICES STARTED

Sharon Bull created the ladies only community in May 2020.  The founder/ director of  Compassionate Voices CIC, wanted to keep attendees of The Power of YOU online Workshop connected during the initial lock down period. Since this time and during some of the most difficult months, the community has taken on its own identity. With The Power of YOU wellbeing and empowerment Workshop still at its core, the community now has over 200 members.

Over the past eighteen months, we have all gone through such an incredibly hard time. Why not ‘Step Out with Compassionate Voices in Hucknall’ and enjoy the company of like minded women. Please register your free place now!

Covid Guidelines:

Masks are optional, but we ask that all attendees respect each others comfort zones. Step Out is a judgement free zone. To ensure everyone’s safety, we suggest taking a lateral flow test before the event, and particularly if you have any covid like symptoms. Hand sanitiser will be available at the venue. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Some of the guests joining Compassionate Voices in Hucknall:

Theresa Gandy -the founder of ‘Your Time , Believe, Belong, Become CIC
Your time is a weekly weigh loss, body confidence & wellbeing not for profit community support group based in Hucknall.
Theresa is a mum of two, dog mummy and a gran to a boisterous 5 year old.
With a former career as a WW coach running 10 meetings a week for 6 years and years of being on & off the dieting treadmill, Theresa realised that she was more than just a number on a scale. She created the unique Your Time weight loss community to deliver  a less focused approach on ‘ watching the scales group’ and  delivering more about self worth and life happiness to help with weight loss.
Theresa will be sharing her story on stage and will also have a stand for you to find out more information.

Next up is our very own Compassionate Voices artist – Mandy Kennell.
Mandy will be traveling from Hastings to join us on Saturday 13th November at the John Godber Centre.

She will be speaking on stage about the benefits art and creativity can be for our wellbeing. Mandy will also have a stand at the event sharing some of her wonderful artwork.

A talented artist, Mandy has had her fair share of tragedy over the years. Her fiancée passed away at 32 years of age and her second born James, she cruelly lost to cot-death. More recently she lost her eldest son Martin to suicide just 5 weeks into the first lock-down

Mandy is a truly spirited soul and although struggling with fibromyalgia, PTSD, agoraphobia and depression, she still manages to lift the members of our Compassionate Voices Community with her art classes

Our fitness is important to our mental wellbeing and what could be more exciting than a spot of hula hooping!

Amy from HulaFit will be joining us at our Step Out Event at Hucknall on Saturday 13th November. She will be treating us to a taster session and will also have a stand to chat about her classes.

STRIPPED BARE

Sharon Bull (founder of Compassionate Voices & creator of The Power of YOU Wellbeing & Empowerment Workshop) will be back on stage again after the long covid break in her other role as a speaker. She will be sharing her keynote talk that opens with one of her most popular spoken poems ‘Stripped Bare’. Sharon will be speaking at all three Step Out events

This event is free, but for covid safety we are asking everyone to pre register. This is so we can keep an eye on attendance figures. Register your ticket(s) now to avoid
disappointment.
