Nooch-The Power of YOU!
September 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm| £10
Sharon Bull (A Compassionate Voice) – inspirational speaker, author, poet and founder of ACV Foundation will be at Nooch Vistro, Matlock Bath on Thursday 19th September 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Since September 2013 Sharon’s sole purpose has been to creatively help others through her own experiences with mental health issues, recovery and well-being. Her passion for mental health awareness and the welfare of children and animals are the driving force behind everything she does.
As an advocate of human and animal rights, lover of wildlife and nature, she also uses the written and spoken word to influence compassion, kindness and respect for all living beings and the environment.
When Sharon’s book ‘Stripped Bare’ was published in 2017, her inspirational story got the attention of the media. She was soon featured in such magazines as Stella,(Sunday Telegraph), Psychologies, Woman’s Own, Best and Daily Express. This was then followed by a TV appearance on This Morning and the inclusion in a BBC Documentary about debt in early 2018.
Sharon is regularly invited to speak with High School/College students about understanding mental health issues. Her reputation as a speaker and as an advocate for mental health awareness is made clear by the wonderful testimonials and referrals she receives.
Her desire to help others is made more apparent by her strong links with other charities. One such charity is Derby Women’s Centre. Sharon frequently donates her time there as a speaker at their fortnightly coffee mornings and has built up a strong relationship with the service users and the staff.
Sharon is also heavily involved with fundraising for her new charitable organisation – ACV Foundation.
Come and listen to Sharon’s uplifting and encouraging story. Find out how she transformed her life after a suicide attempt on the 28th April 2011. Why she swapped her 6-inch heels for walking boots, shut the door on materialism and realised helping others was the perfect antidote for her mental health issues.
Hear some of ACV’s heart wrenching and thought-provoking verse too. Often drawing attention to the causes and issues close to her heart, Sharon’s poetry raises awareness to mental health illness/awareness, poverty, homelessness, animal exploitation and world issues (including climate change, war and inequality.)
Tickets are £10.00. With limited seating, please book in advance, so not to be disappointed. Any tickets purchased before 31st August 2019, names will be entered into a free prize draw to receive an ACV goodie bag.
Simon and Summa will also be serving their delicious vegan cakes and snacks, if you fancy a bite to eat.
(NB: Food and drink is not included in the ticket price)
